Interjú: Where the Lovely Things Are.

Azt hiszem bátran kijelenthetem, hogy a 'Where the Lovely Things Are' az egyik legaranyosabb blog a világon. Szerzője, Mallory McInnis csupa-csupa kedves dolgot gyűjt össze, a bájos grafikáktól a régesrégi fotókon át a legszebb ruhácskákig. 

Mallory blogját nagyon inspirálónak tartom, ezért megkértem, hogy válaszoljon a kérdéseimre, hogy ezáltal ti is jobban megismerhessétek őt.

'Where the Lovely Things Are' must be one of the sweetest blogs on earth. It's writer, Mallory McInnis collects thousands of lovely things such as pretty graphics, old photos and charming dresses.

I find this blog so inspiring, that I asked her to answer my silly questions so that you can get to know her as well.

 

3 apróság amit szeretsz, és 3 amit nem:

Szeretem a henyéléseket, a szendvicseket, és amikor a moziban a vászon fehérre vált.

Nem szeretek éjjel, esőben vezetni, utálom a szúnyogokat, és véletlenül elégetni a sütőben valami finomságot.

3 little things you love, and 3 that you hate:

Love = sloths, sandwiches, when the screen goes all white during a movie you're seeing in the theater / Hate = driving in the rain at night, mosquitos, accidentally burning some delicious treat as you bake it

- Mit csinálsz olyankor, mikor semmit sem kell csinálnod? 

- Olvasok.

- What do you do when you don’t have to do anything? 

- Read.

- Miért szeretsz blogot írni?

- Mielőtt elkezdtem a blogomat, már akkor is rengeteg izgalmas dolgot találtam a neten, de nem tudtam őket megosztani másokkal. Általában e-mailben küldözgettem őket a barátaimnak, amivel egy idő után jól fel is idegesítettem őket… szóval, elkezdtem írni a blogot.

- Why do you like blogging? 

- Before I started blogging I'd find all these awesome things on the internet & have no real outlet to share them. I could only email my friends so many links before they'd begin to get annoyed with me... so, I started blogging. 

- Hogyan jellemeznéd az öltözködésedet?

- Nehéz lenne pontosan körülírni. Igazából minden magamra kapok, ami tetszik – és ez több tucat stílust takar. Színek. Sok színes dolgot viselek. Ezért is kezdtem el a Wear Color blogomat.

- How would you describe your style? 

- It's hard to think of a concise way to describe it. I basically wear whatever I like - and that covers a whole array of more specific styles. Color. I wear a lot of colorful things. Which is why I started my Wear Color blog.

- Ki az akinek a stílusa a leginkább inspirálóan hat rád?

- Nem vagyok benne biztos, hogy ő inspirál-e a LEGINKÁBB, de nagyon kedvelem Debbie Harry stílusát a Bondie fénykorában.

- Who is that person/character that's style inspires you the most? 

- I don't know if she inspires me the MOST, but Debbie Harry during the height of Blondie fame.

- Szerinted melyik korszakban éltek a legjobban öltözött emberek?

- Szeretek bő szoknyákat viselni, szóval valószínűleg eléggé tetszene az élet az 1950-es években. Legszívesebben betoppannék egy időgépbe, átlőném magam 1955-be, felvásárolnék egy csomó ruhát rettentő olcsón és aztán visszatérnék 2011-be.

- What do you think, in which period of fashion history lived the most well-dressed people? 

- I love wearing dresses with full skirts, so I'd probably like living in the 1950s quite a bit. I'd wish I could hop in a time machine, zap myself back to 1955, buy a bunch of dresses at an extremely inexpensive price, and then return to 2011.

 

- Ha az életnek lenne filmzenéje, a tiéd melyik lenne?

- Felbérelnék egy zeneszerzőt, hogy írjon nekem egyet… A kedvenc filmzeneszerzőim közé tartozik Thomas Newmann, Alexandre Desplat, Rachel Portman ás Michael Giacchino. Szeretem a filmzenéket, állandóan ezeket hallgatom – főleg amikor vezetek vagy olvasok.

- If life would have a soundtrack which one would be yours? 

- I'd hire a composer to create one... one of my favorite movie score composers like Thomas Newman, Alexandre Desplat, Rachel Portman or Michael Giacchino. I love movie scores & listen to them all the time - especially when I'm driving or reading.

- I've been listening to rather sad music lately (for no particular reason, I'm not wallowing or anything), so Middle Brother - Million Dollar Bill, Patsy Cline - She's Got You, and The Avett Brothers - If It's the Beaches

- Több száz blogra vagyok feliratkozva, szóval őrülten nehéz választani… de a jelenlegi kedvenceim anne louise likes, Miss Moss, Pennyweight and Length x Wit

- I subscribe to hundreds of blogs, so it's insanely hard to pick... but a few of my current favorites are anne louise likes, Miss Moss, Pennyweight and Length x Wit.

- Egy könyv, amit mindenkinek el kéne olvasnia:

- Szerintem a ’The Phantom Tollbooth’ tökéletes választás, mert ugyanolyan szórakoztató felnőtteknek és gyerekeknek is.

- A book that every people should read:
- I think The Phantom Tollbooth is perfect in that it's equally amusing for children & adults.

- A film amit a legtöbbször láttál:

- A Kisasszonyok, Mary Poppins és a Kőbe szúrt kard. Gyerekkori kedvencek, de azóta is szeretem, újra és újra megnézem őket.

- A film that you’ve seen hundreds of times: 

- Little Women, The Sword in the Stone & Mary Poppins. They were my childhood favorites, & I continue to love them and watch them to this day.

- Mostanában a 'Soha ne engedj el'.

- A film that made you cry: 

- Recently, Never Let Me Go.

- Hát, ez nem egy film, de épp most néztem újra a Partiszerviz színészmódra című sorozatot, és minden epizód alatt legalább 4szer hatalmasat nevettem.

- A film that made you laugh: 

- Well, it's not a film, but I just rewatched both season of Party Down & I definitely laughed at least 4 times during each episode.

- Melyik az a város/ország, ami nagy hatással volt/van rád?

- London. Ott tanultam és ez volt életem egyik legjobb döntése. Ez a kedvenc városom az egész világon.

- Which country/city made the greatest impact on you? 

- London. I studied abroad there and doing so was one of the best decisions I ever made. It's my favorite city in the world.

- Mi a következő célod az életedben?

- Hogy rájöjjek mi a következő cél. De, mint mindig, hogy boldog legyek. És nagyon szeretnék egy kiskutyát.

- What is your next aim in life? 

- To figure out what my next aim in life is. But, as always, to be happy. And I'd really like to get a puppy.
